Prime Incubator: Contract-Ready Series - Executing The Contract

About our intention on the topic, Excuting the Bid, we generally mean, how does a GC on-board a subcontractor, expecially for the first time?  What does the GC expect from the sub? Will there be a kick-off meeting? If so, who are in attendance to the meeting? Will there be a safety audit of the subs's IIPP? Will the subs be given an orientation on the PLA, your LCP tracker, invoicing/ payment system, payment audits of the project owner? Paint us a picture on how to work with GC’s and exit successfully.

Prime Incubator: Contract-Ready Series - The Bid

You assess yourself and think, I am ready to bid with the bigger players in the industry. You have been to the bootcamps on bidding & estimating and you have talked to your buddies who have been subcontractors on a large project. You did your due diligence and now an opportunity comes along for you to bid with a GC.

If you can ask an estimator one question, what would it be?

In this roundtable, seasoned estimators from PCL and Swinerton will have a seat at the table and you can ask them those questions yourself. We’ll talk about scope sheets, schedules versus your cost, value engineering, those plans and specs, how a good bid looks like. We are not here to teach you how to estimate, you should already know that. This platform is for you to ask those questions so you can be ready for #primetime.
