Tim Coffey: Measuring success through social responsibility
As the CEO of TEC Constructors & Engineers, Mr. Tim Coffey is a recognized authority in the construction and engineering industry. His interest and talent in the field were recognized early on. He was ranked first in the ‘Vocation Building Trade Program’ in high school and later graduated with top marks and elected as ‘Senior of the Year’ in the Construction Technology Department at Purdue University.
Before founding TEC in 1988, he managed multi-million-to-billion-dollar projects at elite construction firms such as Gilbane Building Company, Fluor Corporation and Taylor Wimpey Corporation. TEC's client list grew to include Southern California Gas, AEG, Wells Fargo, Kaiser Permanente, Honda, City National Bank, Walt Disney, and Major League Baseball (MLB), CALTRANS, MTA, LAX, and Los Angeles Unified School District.
Mr. Coffey’s current construction projects include the United Airlines Maintenance Facility, California High Speed Rail, MTA Purple Line 2, and the Los Angeles Stadium and Entertainment District, as well as ongoing projects with Los Angeles World Airports, The City of Los Angeles and Los Angeles County.
Today, TEC is an industry leader in the field of design-build, construction management and engineering. Coffey’s hard work and effort have been locally recognized by receiving the following awards:

Mr. Coffey’s success is not only measured through his professional accomplishments but also his sense of social responsibility. Through the Crystal Dreams Foundation, a nonprofit organization he founded with his wife Pamela, scholarships are provided to assist underprivileged students in Southern California pay for college. Also, under the umbrella of Crystal Dreams, the S.T.E.P.U.P Program (Student Training Entrepreneur Program for Unlimited Potential) provides summer jobs and entrepreneur training for high school students.
In his spare time, Tim enjoys spending time with his family, working with his church, perfecting his golf swing, and traveling.
